International Horse Show

Yesterday Jim, Jennifer and I went to the International Horse Show at the War Memorial in Syracuse. We had a really nice afternoon and were amazed at the jumping ability and the speed of some of the horses. The show started with some Bagpipe and Dixieland music and finished up with a combination horse jumping and tractor driving event which added a bit of humor to the afternoon. We wrapped up the day with a nice dinner at Denny's.

Today SED came to do the yearly maintenance on the wind turbine. I'm sure glad it's not my job to climb up there.

Fall Day

Yesterday Jim took a walk down to Selkirk Park to check on his Geocache and to add a few "goodies" to the case. While there he went down to the lake to get a few pictures. It sure looked like a Fall sky.

This past week Jim and the boys came to spend some time and go to the State Fair. We had a great time and were sorry to see the week go by so quickly. We are looking forward to October when Jim and I will go and stay with the boys while Jim and Cathy go to the Fireman's Convention in Florida.

Girls Luncheon

On Wednesday Jennifer and I went to Watertown went to lunch with my Mom , sisters and a group of my cousins. There were 17 in all and we had a great time catching up on news. The youngest to attend was 2 weeks old and my Mom is his great, great, great, great Aunt. That doesn't happen so much anymore with couples waiting until they're older to have their kids.

Family Reunion

Sunday the annual Family Reunion was held at my parents home in Watertown, NY. The weather cooperated and we had sunny skies and a cool breeze. The food was plentiful with a lot of the old favorites as well as some new dishes to try. The desserts were over-flowing and the first to disappear were Grandma's homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies. The eldest person in attendance was my Dad who is 90 years old and the youngest was my cousin Kay's newest grandson, Liam, who is 8 weeks old.

Windmill Producing Power Again

Today was a great day. SED came and replaced the broken motherboard in the inverter and we are now producing power again. The best news was that the part was still under warrenty so we won't have to pay the $2400.00 replacement cost.

Flowers in Bloom

The flowers seem to be coming along nicely despite all the rain and cool weather. The Pansies are still looking good which is unusual in the summer months. I have really been enjoying the Gladiolas as I can have a fresh bouquet all the time.

Today I was able to pick my first Gladiolas. This spring I planted 50+ bulbs and I'm anxious to see what colors I have.

Day At Mill Creek

On Monday we went to Mill Creek for a picnic lunch followed by a stroll through the "Endless Flower Gardens" ( this is what the boys call it). After that we went to the play area at Mill Creek so the kids could have some fun on the play equipment and run through the sprinklers.

Going Home

On Saturday we took Josh home and will spend a few days with Jim and Cathy before returning to Pulaski. Josh took a nap with his "new friends" during the ride home.
